Hussey causes fine mess for Notts
ENGLISH county team Nottinghamshire have paid the price after Bushranger David Hussey illegally helped them to a win.
The team was fined by the ruling England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) after the Victorian batsman played Derbyshire without being registered, Sky Sports reported.
The cricket discipline commission ruled that although Nottinghamshire gained clearance from Cricket Australia, an “administrative oversight” meant Hussey should not have played.
As a result the county was fined more than $900, although Hussey, who went on to score 60 in the victory at Trent Bridge on June 3, was cleared of any wrongdoing.
