England tour of New Zealand 2013 | ANZ International Series
England tour of New Zealand 2013 scheduled from 4 May to 27 June 2013. England will travel to New Zealand at the end of their tour of India in late January and play three Twenty20 internationals, three one-day internationals and three Test matches against their hosts.
The three-match five-day series will see Dunedin host England in a Test match for the first time since 1966, with Wellington’s Hawkins Basin Reserve and Auckland’s Eden Park hosting the other two encounters.
The tour will also see the first test match being played in Auckland since 2006, when England travel to Eden Park. New Zealand’s largest city will be an exhilarating venue for fans, who will be able to explore the famous harbour, waterside bars and cafes, and beautiful beaches. Auckland will host the opening T20 international of the tour with the others scheduled for Hamilton and Wellington. Hamilton is also to host an ODI together with Napier and Auckland.
The summer series will be particularly special for Dunedin as it will be the first time an England cricket team has played in the city since 1966. Although founded by Scotsmen, New Zealand’s City of the South will feel familiar to the English supporters, with its Victorian and Edwardian buildings, and green farmland. Nearby Queenstown will host warm-up matches during the tour, giving fans the opportunity to experience all that New Zealand’s adventure capital has to offer.
Cricket is New Zealand’s biggest summer sport and the arrival of England will be a fantastic occasion, both for the home fans backing the Black Caps, and for the army of passionate England fans who follow their team around the world.
