England Name 14-Player Squad To Tour South Africa

England Women have named a 14-player squad to tour South Africa in October with 20-year-old Georgia Elwiss the only uncapped member of the group.

The Sussex medium-fast bowler will be aiming to make her international during the series of three One-Day Internationals and three Twenty20 Internationals in Potchefstroom.

Tamsin Beaumont and Susie Rowe return to the full squad having spent time with the Academy while left-arm spinner Holly Colvin will not travel as she remains in England to concentrate on her studies at Durham University.

“I was very pleased with our performances over the summer; we saw contributions throughout the squad,” head coach Mark Lane said.

“We will be looking to take the positive performances from this summer with us to South Africa and on to New Zealand in February. Both winter tours will serve as important preparation for us as we look ahead to the ICC Women’s World Twenty20 in 2012 and then onto the ICC Women’s World Cup in 2013.
