Though all for charity, the seriousness out on the field was evident with Yuvraj Singh shouting at every referee call against him, grimacing at every miss by his teammates.

Egged on by over 10,000 cheering crowd, the All Stars coached by former footballer Bhaichung Bhutia, equalised in the 10th minute with Shabbir Ahluwalia scoring the goal.

It was all Manoj Tiwary show after that with the Bengal cricketer showing his footballing skills with two neatly scored goals to give the All Heart team a 3-1 lead. Tiwary was later adjudged the Man of Match for his brilliant show. Playing in humid conditions, the All Stars team managed to give a tough fight even though they went 4-1 down immediately after the resumption of play in the second half.

It was a Ranbir Kapoor show after that. He easily dodged and moved past Zaheer Khan on several occasions. He even tried a back flick which almost gave the All Stars a second goal. But it came nonetheless moments later, when ‘RK’ was tripped in the box which was duly put away.

Ten minutes into the second half, Dino Morea was tripped in the box, but Ranbir’s lame shot from the resultant penalty was easily saved by All Heart goalkeeper Ishant Sharma. But Ranbir was not to be denied a few minutes later, when he picked up a pass from Marc Robinson and smashed a thundering strike right into the top corner to make the scoreline 4-3.

The All Heart team coached by footballer Sunil Chhetri, managed to survive the nervy moments and emerge victorious but not before getting a real scare from their opponents.

All Stars captain Abhishek Bachchan said after the match: “The Indian cricketers are in a habit of winning matches with a scoreline of 4-0. We were scared we would get the same treatment, but all credit to our team especially Ranbir for having fought so brilliantly against the cricketers”

Talking about the team composition, vice-captain Ranbir, who was disappointed at having missed the penalty, said they had been practising for over six months now for the match.

“Everyone who was regularly practising with us today, was given a chance to play. There is nothing to be ashamed of in losing 4-3 and it was an honour to step up and compete against the mighty cricketers”.

Talking about the prospect of arranging a revenge match, Abhishek said a few games were in the pipeline with talks doing the rounds that the two teams will square up again in Sikkim for Bhaichung Bhutia’a foundation.

All cricketers except Mahela Jayawardena who is currently overseas signed the original contract SLC offered following the intervention of Chief Selector Sanath Jayasuriya.

Caribbean T20 2013 tournament has begun with matches being played January 6th to 12th at the Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad and January 15th to 20th at the Beausejour Stadium in St Lucia. News from cricket is that Caribbean t20 cricket schedule 2013 and Squads has been announced.

The format of the Caribbean T20 has been altered to increase the number of preliminary matches each team plays from four to six. As per the new format, the seven regional teams will play each other once and the team with most points at the end of the league stage will automatically qualify for the final. The other finalist will be decided after a playoff between the second and the third-placed teams. The winner of the tournament will also qualify for next year’s Champions League T20. The tournament will kick off on January 6 with a match between Trinidad & Tobago, the current champions, and Jamaica at the Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain and the final will be played on January 20 in St. Lucia.

Previously, the seven regional sides used to compete with three international teams in a ten-team tournament. The teams were divided into two groups, with each team playing four games before the knockouts.

India plays 2 T20 match series against England starting on Thursday in Pune and then squares off against its traditional rival Pakistan – also in a two-match series starting on 25 December in Bengaluru.

South Africa and New Zealand begin a three match series from 21 December with the opening game in Durban.

India is currently ranked third on the T20I Championship table with 120 ratings points. If India was to win all four matches, it will be propelled to the number-one rank with a gain of 12 ratings points and in doing so will open up a five points lead over current number-one ranked Sri Lanka. This will be the first time that India will have a chance of aiming for the number-one spot on the T20I Championship table since it was launched in October 2011.

If India was to lose even one of its four matches, the best it can hope to end 2012 is at the number-two spot. But if India was to lose all four of its matches against both England and Pakistan, it could slip to as low as seventh with 106 ratings points. England and Pakistan can hope to push up a place if they win their games against India.

South Africa could rise up to number-two spot if it wins the series against the Black Caps 3-0. But the final positioning for South Africa will be determined by the outcomes of India’s series against England and Pakistan.

The number-one ranked batsman on the Reliance ICC T20I Player Rankings table, New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum, will get an opportunity to consolidate his hold at the top.  Also in action will be the top ranked bowler Saeed Ajmal who will get a chance to open up the lead since his closest rival and second ranked Graeme Swann will be missing from the England squad.

Pakistan captain Mohammad Hafeez will be the highest-ranked all-rounder in action. Hafeez is currently ranked second behind Australia’s Shane Watson.

Pakistan tour of India 2012-13 will consist of three One Day International, and two Twenty20 International matches starts from 25 December 2012 to 6 January 2013. Here is the Schedule of this tour.

Pakistan on Monday axed former captain Shahid Afridi from their one-day squad for the much-awaited series against India but retained the seasoned allrounder in the Twenty20 line-up for the brief tour. Experienced allrounder Abdul Razzaq was dropped from both the squads while Shoaib Malik was overlooked for the three One-day Internationals against India but was kept in the touring party for the two Twenty20 Internationals.We all should wait and see what these historic venues are going to produce for this epic series between two arch rivals.

Sun TV Network has won the Hyderabad franchise for an amount of Rs. 85.05 crore per year. This franchise fee represents a premium of over a 100% above the amount paid by DCHL for the Hyderabad Franchise in 2008. The Sun TV Network bid was substantially higher than the second bid of PVP Ventures, which was Rs. 69.03 crore.

The BCCI had floated the tenders for a new IPL franchise after terminating Deccan Chargers contract on September 15, 2012 but the team owners Deccan Chargers Holdings Limited had challenged it in the Bombay High Court. The High Court had ruled in favour of the BCCI after DCHL failed to furnish a bank guarantee of Rs. 100 crore before the 5 p.m., October 12, 2012 deadline. Later, an arbitrator had ordered for status quo but the High Court again ruled in favour of the Board.

New Zealand tour of South Africa 2012-13 will start from 18 December 2012 and will end at 25 January 2013. During this New Zealand vs South Africa series, both teams will fight in three T20s, two tests and three ODIs. First T20 will be played on December, 21, 2012. Brendon McCullum is appointed the captain of the team for New Zealand in all three forms. Already Ross Taylor has denied to captain the team in just Tests. So the controversy has already started in the feeble team of New Zealand. Daniel Vttori is also not selected for test squad. This is a decision that many people are unable to understand. Michael Bates, the Auckland seamer, has been named as a replacement for Mark Gillespie in New Zealand’s Twenty20 squad for the tour of South Africa. Faf du Plessis is named as captain of the T20s for South Africa. Tahir is kept outside the test series.

Sri Lanka tour of Australia 2012-13 is scheduled to begin on 14th December 2012 and will end on 28th January 2013 in Australia. This will be an international bilateral series organized by Australia and the Australia vs Sri Lanka 2013 Series will consist of 3 Test, 5 ODI and 2 T20 matches which will take place at various locations in Australia in Dec 2012-Jan 2013.

The Sri Lankan cricket team will tour Australia from 6 December 2012 to 28 January 2013. The tour will consist of three Tests, five One Day Internationals (ODIs) and two Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). Tests will play for Warne–Muralidaran Trophy. The test series will be preceeded by a match against the Cricket Australia Chairman’s XI and Sri Lankans.

Australia played a recent home series against South Africa and had a disappointing lost 1-0 after being on top for most of the series. In that series, Ricky Ponting, the second highest run scorer in tests and former test captain, retired at the end of the third test.

On the other hand, Sri Lanka enjoyed some success at a home series against New Zealand, winning an ODI series and drawing a test series 1-1.

The West Indies will compete against Bangladesh in two test matches, five One Day Internationals and one T20 between November 3rd and December 12th 2012. The Windies are on a high from their victory in the World T20 Series in Sri Lanka and will be looking to carry on the good form on their tour of Bangladesh. The West Indies Cricket Board on Saturday announced a 15-member squad for the tour of Bangladesh this month.

Yuvraj Singh staged a remarkable comeback to the Test fold, while struggling off-spinner Harbhajan Singh also returned from wilderness as India named a 15-member squad on Monday for the first two Tests against England starting November 15. The Indian national selection committee on Monday announced a 15-member squad for the first two Tests against England, which is given below:

England tour of India this winter will include four Tests, five one-day internationals and two Twenty20 games. The squad will embark for three days of training in Dubai on 25 October, before flying to India five days later. The first Test starts on 15 November. After the Tests and Twenty20 matches, they will travel home for Christmas and then return for the one-day matches. The first 50-over game begins on 11 January, with all five clashes set to be day-night encounters. ”This will be England’s first full tour of India since 2008 and I am sure that cricket fans in both countries will be eagerly anticipating an exciting series of contests in all three formats of the game,” said the managing director of England Cricket, Hugh Morris. ”ECB will also be seeking to finalise an England Performance Programme camp in India before Christmas which will help prepare members of both our Test and T20 squads.” England named the following squad for the four-match Test series against India:

South Africa tour of Australia 2012 will begin on November 9th 2012 in Australia as per cricket schedule announced. South Africa announced their squad on 10 October 2012 and dropped quick Lonwabo Tsotsobe for all-rounder Rory Kleinveldt.

Australia announced a squad for the first test match at the Gabba on 28 October 2012. Brad Haddin was ommitted and was replaced by the younger Matthew Wade meaning that Haddin’s test career could be over. Australia has announced their squad for the first test, while the second and third test might have a change in the team based on performances.

The South African cricket team is currently touring Australia from 2 November to 4 December 2012. The tour will consist of three Test matches. The test series will be preceeded by one first class match between the South Africans and the Australian A squad.
