Australia tour of UAE 2012

Australia tour of UAE 2012 | VB Tour of the United Arab Emirates | Pakistan vs Australia in UAE | Cool & Cool Cup |

In this Australia tour of UAE 2012, Pakistan cricket team will play their home series against Australia from 28 August to 10 September 2012 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The Cool & Cool Cup series will consist of three One Day International (ODI) and three Twenty20 International (T20) matches. The matches will begin in the late evening to avoid the hightemperature of the daytime. The ODI series has been reduced due to Australian Cricketers’ Association (ACA) and Cricket Australia (CA) concerns about the weather in the UAE during August.

Earlier the ICC approved a six-match T20 series on the request of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), but Pakistan still wanted to play ODI series. The PCB chairman, Zaka Ashraf proposed that the matches would start in the evening in order to avoid the worst of the heat. The series was initially scheduled in Sri Lanka but clashing with the dates the Sri Lanka Premier League (SLPL), shifted to the UAE.

Pakistan vs Australia Highlights

Pakistan will seek to reverse their poor one-day record against Australia amid oppressive heat and unusual timings in their limited over series, which starts on Tuesday. Pakistan, who have not beaten Australia in a one-day series since 2002, have lost 4-1 to England and 3-1 in Sri Lanka, slipping to sixth in the one-day rankings. Australia, who slid to fourth from No1 for the first time in three years after a humiliating 4-0 defeat in England last month, not only face an opponent laced with quality spinners but also high temperatures.
